In addition to our full time faculty, we also have several attendings from various disciplines of medicine including hematology/oncology, nephrology, critical care, pulmonology, cardiology, and emergency medicine. Each of these attendings are delegated to a month of in-patient medicine, whereby they are responsible for conducting our morning report. Having these specialists present during morning report offers the residents further insight into some of the more complicated cases on the medicine service. In addition to this, these attendings also take the opportunity during morning report to further teach the residents, particularly in their areas of specialty or of concentration. We also have two board certified internists, who routinely round on resident patients in conjunction to the family medicine attendings. Doctors, Shah and Isaac continue to be an integral part to the in-patient medicine service, and are devoted to providing the residents with teaching points and additional feedback.

Dr. Ahn-Vu Nguyen, recipient of the 2008 Florida Academy of Family Physicians Preceptor of the Year Award, is one of our most devoted preceptors and former graduates. Picture of Vu and Parrish award ceremony
