Sports Medicine Facilities
Fellows have the opportunity to work in a number of different environments around the Tampa Bay area.
Bayfront Family Health Center for Sports Medicine (FHC)
Home to the Family Medicine and Sports Medicine educational programs, the Bayfront Family Health Center serves as the primary clinical site for the fellowship program. Located on the first floor of the Family Health Center the Center for Sports Medicine treats athletes of all levels from weekend warrior to professional athlete. Clinical services include injury and fracture management, exercise treadmill and cycle ergometry testing including exertional lower extremity compartment pressure measurement, body composition analysis, and nutrition counseling services.
Bayfront Convenient Care Clinics (CCC)
Fellows provide sports medicine services in an urgent care facility. We are fortunate to have the support and referrals from our urgent care colleagues for diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal complaints as well as non-operative fracture management as well as self-referrals from other patients and physicians in the community. Patients range from the young to the elderly, in various levels of athletic activity, and in occupational demands. On site X-ray, EKG, blood & urine testing, drug testing, medication dispensing, and a full complement of splints & casting supplies are available on-site.
University of South Florida

At the University of South Florida, fellows work alongside a team of experienced sports medicine physicians, both family physicians and orthopedic surgeons, as well as athletic trainers and graduate assistants. Training Room Clinic is held in the Athletic Training Center built in May 2004. The training room and practice facilities were used during Super Bowl XLIII by the AFC Champions Pittsburg Steelers in 2009.

This state-of-the-art training facility features brand new rehabilitation equipment and therapeutic modalities and houses three Hydroworx series pools. There is an underwater treadmill, three jet currents, video camera and computer control console. Fellows have access to a C-arm fluoroscope in the training room. The training room has an in-house pharmacy, stocked with commonly used medications, CLIA-waived laboratory tests, intravenous fluids, and suture material. Home games for USF Football are played at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On-site radiography and technicians are available during game days.

Eckerd College
At Eckerd College, fellows work with the head athletic trainers under the supervision of the team physicians. Athletes have access to two on-site sports medicine facilities with therapeutic modalities capabilities. Athletes take advantage of the training facility's proximity to Bayfront Medical Center and urgent care centers to access medical and radiological services.
Bayfront Medical Center & All Children's Hospital
Bayfront Medical Center is a Level II adult & pediatric trauma center with full orthopedic, emergency, neurosurgical, cardiovascular, intensive care, and rehabilitation support available to the fellow to provide patient care. All Children's Hospital is the only specialty licensed children's hospital on Florida's west coast with pediatric emergency & intensive care services available. Fellows may admit patients or athletes requiring higher levels of care, be consulted to provide non-operative orthopedic/sports medicine services in these hospitals, or provide first-assist services in orthopedic surgeries. Additionally, fellows may continue to practice their primary specialty or choose to do elective rotations with various specialties in these hospitals.
